Constance (Connie) O’Harra was born and raised in Oregon. She now spends summers in Oregon and winters in Nevada. She is a member of the Moapa Valley Art Guild.

Riding behind her husband on a Gold Wing motorcycle throughout the states west of the Mississippi gives Connie many opportunities for picture-taking. The photos are used for reference in her studio to create watercolor or pencil art pieces.

By using a limited palette of three to five colors and strong value contrast, Connie expresses her love for the scenic beauty of our western states and her deep fondness for old relics. She combines these two interests to portray her awe for the early people who settled this area and worked through hardships with strength, vitality and courage. Connie marvels at the creativity and ingenuity of those who began with little or nothing; however, by using materials at hand, they made needed items and beautiful works of art. She wants to share with you her enthusiasm for the vast variety of this land and its people.

Taking advantage of art programs offered by local commnity colleges, joining groups of artists who help one another, finding classes taught by local artists, and researching and taking workshops are the resources Connie utilizes to move toward her goal of being involved in the visual arts.

Connie has shown at the Pomegranate Art Festival, the Lost City Museum in Overton, and the Valley of Fire State Park Visitor Center. Her work has also been shown at Happy Canyon Western Art Show in Pendleton, Oregon, and at the Carnegie Art Center in Walla Walla, Washington. Connie is currently President of the MVAG.
