Flo Lund

Flo has been a musician and music teacher for many years and only recently began painting. A long-time photographer, it seemed difficult at first to be creating images instead of faithfully capturing them. She has been a member of the Moapa Valley Art Guild for 10 years, and has received much help and instruction from other Guild members and from MVAG-sponsored workshops.

She is working now to achieve movement in her work, as well as to become more free and fluid in her painting. A resident of Moapa, NV, she finds inspiration in the often stark beauty of desert landscapes, especially the ones with mountains in the background.

She enjoys experimenting with different subject matter, including landscapes, florals, still lifes, and animals. She also enjoys trying to capture faces in pencil sketches. Composition and perspective present special challenges, but that’s what makes it fun!
