Guild Scholarship Program

The Moapa Valley Art Guild offers college level scholarships to visual art students who are graduates of Moapa Valley High School. The MVAG may grant up to three scholarships in one year if highly qualified candidates submit applications. There is no requirement that any scholarship be granted if there is no appropriate candidate. Members of the Moapa Valley Art Guild scholarship committee make the decision.

The money for this scholarship is raised from the proceeds of the raffle that is held at the Pomegranate Art Festival sponsored by the Guild.

MVAG 2010 Scholarships

The Moapa Valley Art Guild has chosen recipients of College Scholarships for 2010. Out of seven applicants, three were chosen. From this year's Moapa Valley High School Senior Class is Trevor Bagley. Trevor's older sister, Audrey, is a previous MVAG Scholarship winner and is currently working for a major West Coast animation studio. Inspired by his sister's success, Trevor's current goal is to be accepted in BYU's Animation Program.

The other two winners are sisters Grace and Jamie Turner, who are both continuing their college studies. Jamie, who graduated from MVHS in 2008, is adding a Business major to her Art major to better prepare herself for a career in the Arts. Grace graduated from MVHS in 2009 and is developing her skills in several art media.

We wish them all the very best as they continue to pursue their studies.
